"SIMUL-CAST POND" presented by Captain Mike Corblies

Q. What is the "SIMUL-CAST" Exhibit?

A. Our exhibit is a 50' long casting pond that is 16' wide by 2' deep.

We have large screen T.V. monitors placed along side the pond that are hooked up to our dvd/video camera pa system that shows exciting fly fishing and kayaking video footage related to the techniques we are teaching at and in the pond.

We call it "SIMUL-CASTING" and it takes teaching these sports to a whole new level. Member Pros of AMERICAN FLY FISHING SCHOOLS plus national and regionally known guest Pros give Pond Side Seminars on many topics. Our performances are very interactive with our guests plus we offer individual casting lessons and kayaking tips between presentations.

Crossfire Kennels and Staton Gun Dogs

The dog training segments at this show have always drawn a large audience. This year will be no exception as Judi and Stephen Ware of Crossfire Kennels illustrate the training of German Shorthaired Pointers.

Steve has competed in the show ring, hunt tests and field trials, training and successfully competing with many "bird dog" breeds.

John Staton, of Staton Gun Dogs, originally trained Labrador Retrievers and horses, but found his true niche in training after he adopted his rescue pointer, Flash from Judi and Stephen Ware in 1990. As he developed Flash, he realized that he loved training upland bird dogs and Staton Gun Dogs was born! Over the years the two families have bonded and started training dogs together.

Jointly they will present the dog training demonstrations all days of the event and will be available for talking to dog owners about teaching the skills necessary to train a solid hunting companion.

Don't miss these informative and interesting sessions. For more information click here: http://njquailproject.org

NJ Division of Parks and Forestry:  K-9 Tracking Dogs

These K-9 tracking dogs are used to help the wildfire investigator by tracking the scent of a suspect from the scene; giving the investigator direction of travel, possible witnesses, and a more defined search area. The mere presence of the dogs has convinced two suspects to admit to lighting wildfires. The K-9 team has been utilized to assist in several wildfire investigations to date. The bloodhounds have also found use in the search for lost persons in rural and forested areas. The K-9 team has been utilized on two searches over the past year.

Another use of these scent dogs is to enhance our public information campaign. Over the past year, the K-9 team has taken part in over 110 informational programs with over 8,800 direct contacts. During the programs, the public receives fire prevention and enforcement education, with the scent dogs being the catalyst for interaction. People love the bloodhounds, drawing larger crowds, and initiating more questions
